Weekly Summary of PCHAIN AMA on 30/10/2018

We have finished the weekly AMA with Dr. Feng Cao on the telegram on Oct 30. Thank you for your participation and support. The following is the summary of the AMA.

Part 1: PCHAIN Technology Questions

Q1: How does your vision of interoperability (and its implementation) differ from the implementation of Wanchain?

A1: Our current interoperability mainly focus on main chain and child chain. As main chain and child chain aware each other, we can design better interoperability. Wanchain mainly focus on interoperability over different chains. Different chains don’t aware the existence of each other. It’s also a direction we called cross chain in our whitepaper. And we have designed a very unique method in this direction.

Q2: Is it possible in the future to use neural networks and artificial intelligence in the blockchain? For example, to optimize the interaction of the main and child chains?

A2: Blockchain + AI is an interesting direction. In fact, I was a tech leader of great China on IBM grand challenger, Debater and Watson, which are top AI projects.

Q3: Is PCHAIN going to support fixed point math? (As far as I know, Ethereum does not support fixed point math)

A3: Currently, no plan as our EVM compatible. We can consider this when switching to web assembling.

Q4: Will there be a developer SDK/guide ? When will it be available? I am very eager to develop DAPPs on PCHAIN. I hope you can consider to write a book for developers (migration to PCHAIN guide?) soon.

A4: Yes. We will release in/before our Hackathon in Nov. :) In fact,it’s not hard as EVM compatible.

Q5: Will you integrate contract security automated self check utility in PCHAIN? Security is the MOST important aspect of a blockchain.

A5: This is an interesting direction. we got some progress in it.

Q6: Do we need a high end PC to run a node? Like GPU and so on?

A6: For dynamic super nodes, we need some requirement on machine, but the configuration can be much lower than EOS super nodes. We also support some light nodes which have lower hardware requirement.

Q7: For light nodes, can we run on very cheap hardware like Raspberry Pi 2?

A7: The specific configuration is not finalized.

Q8: How do you solve the problem of much larger storage requirement due to much higher TPS? Do you use some kind of compression technology or whatnot?

A8: Data is always a problem in our consideration. By current estimation, it will not a big problem in 1 year after main-net launch. So we still get time to resolve it. The general idea is data compression/reduction

Q9: Maybe consider partnering with Bluzelle or other IPFS projects?

A9: Yes, we can also have Smart Data Alliance :)

Part 2: PCHAIN Marketing Questions

Q1: Hi Jeff, any liquidity for PCHAIN coming soon?

A1: We continuously discussing with different top layer exchanges. We believed good project will be listed in top exchanges, sooner or later.

Q2: Any idea when remaining patents will be approved? Will PCHAIN then go open source?

A2: Remaining patents are in the process. We are quite confident they can be approved as our innovation and the good reputation of king&wood firm.

We will open source step by step until all the code (including research directions) public to our community.

Q3: Do you think marketing is important in this tech heavy field? Do you plan to expand your marketing team once MAIN-NET is running?

A3: I think community is more important than marketing. When good community, marketing will not be a problem.

Q4: Do you think the MAIN-NET will come before the time of the road map?

A4: it will be as the road map by current situation.

Q5: Can you tell us more about the hackathon?

A5: https://twitter.com/PCHAIN_org/status/1055406463475179522?s=12

You can find more in our official twitter.

Q6: How do you plan to differentiate yourself from permissioned enterprise ready blockchains like Quorum and R3 Corda to gain business usage?

A6: We can have a PCHAIN Enterprise Alliance to have an Enterprise version PCHAIN when our code base is relative stable.

Q7: Does PCHAIN plan to update their website so it looks more fresh and modern?

A7: Yes. We will do it.

Q8: Is there any Korean official channel?

A8: No, we do not have official Korean channel yet. We can build one if any volunteer.
